Groin Strain Treatment in Surrey, BC
Common in hockey, soccer and anything with hard cutting or skating strides — groin strains are as stubborn as they are common.
What it feels like
- Sharp or aching pain in the inner thigh or groin crease
- Pain with side lunges, kicking, skating strides or quick direction changes
- A pinch or pull when bringing the legs together against resistance
Why it happens
Most groin strains involve the adductors — the inner-thigh muscles that control cutting and striding. But the groin is a busy junction: hip joint, abdominal wall and adductors all refer pain here, and each needs different care. Getting the source right is half the battle.
How we can help
Your assessment sorts out what is actually driving the pain — adductor, hip or elsewhere — and how irritable it is. From there we build a staged plan matched to your sport and your body’s response, rebuilding strength through the positions your activity demands. If the pattern does not fit a simple strain, we will say so and help you investigate.

Common questions
Is it a groin strain or a hernia?
They can feel similar, which is why assessment matters. Strains typically flare with resisted inner-thigh work; other patterns — a bulge, pain with coughing, symptoms that don't behave like a muscle — point elsewhere, and we'll refer you to your physician if we see them.
Can I keep playing while it heals?
Sometimes, with modifications — it depends on the severity and your sport's demands. Continuing unmodified through a worsening groin is how seasons get lost, so we'll map out what's reasonable for your case and adjust as it settles.
