Sciatica Treatment in Surrey, BC
That electric line of pain from your lower back or buttock down the leg has a name — and a well-mapped treatment path.
What it feels like
- Sharp, burning or electric pain running from the low back or buttock down one leg
- Tingling, pins-and-needles or numbness in the leg or foot
- Worse with sitting, bending or coughing; often eased by walking or changing position
Why it happens
Sciatica means the sciatic nerve is being irritated — commonly by a bulging disc, a narrowed nerve passage, or tight deep-hip muscles pressing on the nerve. Which one it is changes the treatment, which is why guessing rarely works.
How we can help
Every case of sciatica is a little different, so we start by understanding exactly where and why your nerve is being irritated. From there, your practitioner shapes a care plan around your specific presentation and goals, and adjusts it as you progress — the details are decided case by case, not from a template. Many cases respond well to conservative care, and we'll be honest with you about what we're seeing, including referring you on if your situation needs further investigation.
