Conditions we treat
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation in Surrey, BC
Surgery is the first step — the recovery that follows is where function is rebuilt. A structured, personalized rehab plan protects the result.
What it feels like
- Recent orthopedic surgery — knee, shoulder, hip, ankle or spine
- Stiffness, swelling and weakness around the surgical site
- Uncertainty about what is safe to do, and when
Why it happens
After surgery, tissues heal on a biological timetable while strength and confidence rebuild on their own. Good rehabilitation respects both — progressing steadily without overloading healing structures, and without leaving capacity on the table by being overly cautious.
How we can help
We work from your surgeon’s protocol where one exists, and assess how your body is actually healing — swelling, range, strength and confidence. Your practitioner builds each phase around your case and coordinates with your surgical team when questions come up. The plan is reviewed continuously; recovery is personal, and we treat it that way.

Common questions
When should rehab start after surgery?
That depends on your procedure and your surgeon's protocol — some surgeries benefit from very early movement, others need protected healing first. Bring your surgical paperwork to the first visit and we'll build the timeline around it.
What if I wasn't given a rehab protocol?
That's common, and it's fine. We assess where your healing and function are now, apply established post-surgical principles for your procedure, and coordinate with your surgeon's office if anything needs clarifying.
Is post-surgical rehab covered by my insurance?
Most extended health plans cover physiotherapy after surgery, and we bill your plan directly wherever it allows. If your surgery followed a car accident or workplace injury, ICBC or WorkSafeBC coverage may apply instead — we can help you sort out which applies at your first visit.
