Conditions we treat
Knee Pain Treatment in Surrey, BC
Stairs, squats, kneeling, or just sitting too long — knee pain has many triggers and just as many causes. Finding yours is the job.
What it feels like
- Pain around or behind the kneecap on stairs and hills
- Aching or stiffness after sitting, or swelling after activity
- Clicking, catching or a knee that feels unreliable
Why it happens
Knee pain rarely starts and ends at the knee. Runner's knee, patellar tendinopathy, meniscus irritation and osteoarthritis all present differently — and hip strength, ankle mobility and training load usually have a say in all of them.
How we can help
Because knee pain rarely starts and ends at the knee, we assess the whole chain — hip, knee and ankle — to understand your specific problem. Your practitioner then tailors a care plan to what we find and to your goals, whether that's stairs without pain or getting back to running. We'll be straight with you about what to expect along the way.
Common questions
Is clicking or grinding in my knee something to worry about?
Noise on its own, with no pain or swelling, is very common and usually not a sign of damage. It is worth assessing when it comes alongside pain, catching, the knee giving way, or swelling that keeps returning.
Should I be icing it or keeping it moving?
Both have their place depending on the stage. Early on, cold is often comfortable for an irritated knee. Beyond that, appropriate movement generally does more good than rest. Your plan will be specific about what is reasonable for where you are now.
